The Another Day Foundation is a New York–based nonprofit that provides assistance for artists across all disciplines facing mental health challenges. We believe every artist should have access to the mental health help they truly need—not just what they can afford or what their insurance coverage allows. Our ultimate mission is to address the financial barriers that limit access to quality support and needed provider/patient connection—covering the full cost of New York artists’ in chosen mental health provider.

Why it's hard to find therapists in New York who directly accept insurance? Many mental health provider do not accept insurance directly due to low reimbursement rates and administrative burden. Insurance companies often pay therapists significantly less per session than what they charge private-pay clients, making it less financially viable for therapists to accept insurance directly. Administrative burden: The paperwork and time involved in billing insurance companies can lower a therapist's effective hourly wage. Out-of-network: Many therapists work with a fee-for-service model and do not have a contract with insurance companies, meaning you would have to pay upfront and submit a "superbill" to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
